Good ol'days

Do you remember when you were a kid?

Not your birthday,

Crying,

or the ferris wheel.

Do you remember how effortless you were?

Being captured in the moment of the thing.

It all seemed so easy then.

The days of being a day.

Nothing expected from it, we could hardly speak our names.

Yet, we fully lived it.

Through the best,

In spite of the worst.

We saw what was.

We said what we saw.

We learned people don’t want to be seen.

We hid because that’s what others do.

See what is,

Say what we see,

Learn people don’t want to be seen,

See them anyways.
