Brown Paper Bag

A brown paper bag rolls in the wind at the overpass as I drive by.

Obviously used to hold a beer once upon a time, the bag still holds its circular shape after being clenched and carried with a large can inside. Tumbling past me from the wind of overly expensive cars, and every other.

Someone bought alcohol when they don’t have a place to stay. When there is nowhere to go, they went to a drink.

And I drive by. As everyone drives by.
